Assumption College Football Rankings
So what a great day! Assumption College being in the pre-season top 25 for the first time ever! Some polls even have Assumption as high as 14 coming into the 2016 football season! I will tell you what they have good reason. Nearly all of Assumption's offense and defense are coming back this year! There were a few key losses due to seniors graduating, however the bulk of the team you saw last year in the NCAA Division II playoffs will be back this year. We should have two healthy young quarterbacks coming back. A boatload of wide receivers to throw to, including a freshmen or two that may get the starting nod. Last but not least a ground and pound offense, led by a couple of bruising running backs!
To think that this team was predicted to finish middle of the pack in the NE-10 last year. They accomplished so much and got a ton of awards to show for it. However that was last season and this season, they can't let down for a single moment! They were in a lot of close call games and luckily their stout defense won out and kept them in some key situations.
