Assumption Vs. Kutztown Kick Off At 1:00 Saturday
Assumption will kickoff their opening game today against Kutztown in Pa. This will be an out of conference game for Assumption, however as I have mentioned in previous videos every game counts in the NE-10. Unfortunately not much information is available on either team. Kutztown comes in at 6-5 while Assumtion brings a 7-4 record to the table. Kutztown plays in a more competitive league in Pa, however Assumption was on a roll last year. In fact Assumption very easily could have had 2 or 3 more wins if they had just a couple more calls go their way.
I would look for Trevor Vasey (qb for Assumption) to open up the passing game early and often. Assumption has traditionally been a ground and pound type of offense, which likes to keep things on the ground. We got lucky last year picking up this 6"6'' qb who can stretch the field if need be. Look for him to hit his favorite target Ashton Grant (sophomore) for a couple big gainers.
Assumption's defense was one of the stingiest and best in the league allowing just 19 points per game. They have a good nucleus coming back, however did lose some key players to graduation last year.
