The Indianapolis Colts today signed undrafted free agent inside linebacker Nicklas Haag and waived-injured outside linebacker Cody Galea. If Galea clears waivers, he will revert to the Colts Injured Reserve list. Haag, 6-2, 250 pounds, played the last two seasons with the Cedar Rapids Titans of the Indoor Football League. He competed collegiately at Assumption College and the University of Massachusetts. In 2015, Haag played in 13 games and led the Titans with 94 tackles (43 solo), 9.5 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks and two passes defensed. He was named Defensive Player of the Week after tallying 12 tackles and 2.0 sacks in Cedar Rapids’ Week 4 victory over the Tri-City Fever. Haag saw action in nine games for the Titans in 2014 and finished with 46 tackles (25 solo), 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. The two-time All-Northeast-10 honoree participated in 31 games in three seasons (2010-12) at Assumption and finished with 118 tackles (51 solo), 27.0 tackles for loss, 13.0 sacks, six passes defensed and three forced fumbles. As a senior captain in 2012, Haag appeared in 10 games and registered 33 tackles (13 solo), 6.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one pass defensed and one forced fumble. He played in the All-American Bowl and was named the game’s MVP. Haag tied for second in the Northeast-10 Conference with 7.5 sacks in 2011, while collecting 45 tackles (20 solo), 15.5 tackles for loss, one pass defensed and two forced fumbles for the Greyhounds. He participated in 11 games in 2010 and tallied 40 tackles (18 solo), 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and four passes defensed. Prior to transferring to Assumption, Haag spent two seasons (2008-09) at the University of Massachusetts. In 2009, he played in all 11 games and made 12 tackles after redshirting as true freshman in 2008. Galea, 6-3, 252 pounds, originally signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2015. He totaled 114 tackles (68 solo), 15.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks at San Diego State.
